Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know before your visit. Still have a question? Just reach out.
What can I do before my ultrasound?+
You can drink a lot of water 24 hours before and on the day of your appointment. You can also eat something sweet about 30 minutes before your appointment.
If I'm only 6–10 weeks pregnant, will I be able to get good images?+
Drink water and arrive with a full bladder. A full bladder helps us get better images in early pregnancy.
When can I hear my baby's heartbeat?+
To listen to baby's heartbeat we use Power Doppler, which is suggested after 12 weeks gestation. Before 12 weeks we use M-Mode to measure the heart rate, but with M-Mode you cannot "hear" it.
When do you do gender reveals?+
Gender determination is available from 16 weeks gestational age.
Do you offer transvaginal ultrasound for early pregnancy?+
We do not offer transvaginal ultrasound. As a non-diagnostic keepsake service, we use the transabdominal approach only.
Do you offer rescans?+
We do offer rescans! Good 3D images depend on baby's cooperation, and we completely understand if there is limited cooperation - sometimes babies just want a nap.
Are you providing a diagnostic ultrasound?+
No. We offer keepsake images which are non-diagnostic. We believe in giving you a memorable experience you will always remember.
When can I get the best 3D/4D images?+
The best 3D/4D images are from 26–32 weeks. After 32 weeks, image quality can decline due to baby's position and limited space.
Can I still get a ultrasound if I am 36 weeks or more?+
Most certainly! We offer The Sweet CUTIE package for later pregnancy, with quality and expectations depending on baby's position.
